Once there were some pizzas prepared for the foreign youth to enjoy. The youth presented a piece of pizza to Swamishri and requested him to accept a piece and thereby please them. Swamishri refused saying, “We find no joy in pizzas. We find joy in simple mamra (popped rice).

This incident is depicted with a pizza made with mamra.

Ashtāvakra Rishi discoursed daily to 88,000 rishis. King Janak also listened to his discourses. Once, Janak was late. The rishis thus exclaimed that, Janak is too tied up with ruling a kingdom, so the discourse should begin without him.” However the Rishi waited for Janak to arrive before starting the discourse. Janak arrived shortly. To put the rishis in place, Ashtavakra created an illusion that the kingdom of Mithila was burning. The rishis hurried to save their belongings. Janak, however, stayed put and said, “Even though my city of Mithila is burning, yet nothing of mine is burning. In essence, nothing is mine.”

Swamishri listened constantly to scriptural readings during his recovery after his bypass surgery in 1998. The attendant Swamis would take turns to read as they got tired, but Swamishri would not tire in listening. He completed many volumes of scriptural recital during this illness.

King Parikshit was cursed that within 7 days, he would die from the venom of the great snake Takshaka. Immediately King Parikshit left home and spent 7 days listening to the Shrimad Bhagvat from Shukdev. On the 7th day, Takshaka bit the king and caused his demise. King Parikshit had however attained spiritual wisdom within these 7 days, and was thus liberated.

Once Ravan abducted Sita and flew to Lanka. On the way, Sita dropped her gold ornaments leaving a trail behind. When Bhagwan Ram and Lakshman came across an earning, a bangle and an ankle, Bhagwan Ram questioned Lakshman whether he could recognise any of them. Lakshman replied, “I do not know the earring nor the bangle. But I recognize the anklet for I bowed at Sitaji's feet every day.”

Such incredible form of sensory control stunned Bhagwan Ram as the three of them had exiled for 14 years yet Lakshman only had the darshan of Sita’s feet. Hence, Lakshman is known as a jati – an individual who has superhuman control over their senses.
